The Fior Collection

%catagory Gallery

The “Fíor” Collection by Irish Artist John Victory portrays reflections of life captured within the ancient lines of Celtic knotwork and spiral patterns. Each piece in the “Fíor” collection is an original design using traditional Celtic Design grid and point referencing systems. Copper metals are hand crafted using various versions and combinations of embossing, chasing, etching and repoussé techniques. The finished crafted piece is carefully then set in a sandstone render and subsequently polished before being signed, mounted and framed.

The Book of Kells Collection

%catagory Gallery

This collection is inspired by the Book of Kells (Trinity College Dublin, Ireland) which is celebrated for its lavish decoration. The manuscript contains the four Gospels in Latin based on a Vulgate text, written on vellum (prepared calfskin), in a bold and expert version of the script known as “insular majuscule”. Each piece in this collection contains a Celtic Designed initial letter from the Book of Kells and is crafted from copper plate inscribed in old Irish/Gaelic text.

The Ogham Collection

%catagory Gallery

This collection is inspired by Ireland’s Ancient script known as Ogham. It was the writing of Druids and Bards. Ogham symbols were called after various trees and plants and were cut into the vertical edge of stone. Sometimes known as the “Celtic Tree Alphabet”, Ogham reads from the bottom up and is to be found inscribed on standing stones and in sacred places throughout Ireland’s rural landscape. Each piece in this collection is crafted from copper plate inscribed in Ogham text with a Celtic Designed knotwork and spiral base.
